Letter Dear Member of Congress, I urge you to make energy efficiency, expanding public transportation, deploying renewable energy technology, and reducing the pollution that causes global warming central elements in America’s economic policies. As a first step, please support an economic recovery plan that invests in energy efficiency improvements, the rapid deployment of renewable energy, and the development of a skilled workforce to accomplish these goals. Over the long term, we can and we must convert America’s pollution-based economy to one fueled by 100 percent clean, efficient, renewable electricity. Doing so will protect our environment, improve our energy security, slow global warming and jump-start our economy. It must start now, with a commitment to invest in a green economic recovery.
